Additional Information on Eligibility: Eligible entities include: The 53 State agencies that administer the Food Stamp Program; State or local governments; Agencies providing health or welfare services; Public health or educational entities; and private non-profit entities such as community-based or faith-based organizations, food banks, or other emergency feeding organizations.
Grant Description: Eligible applicants are invited to compete for an FY 2007 Food Stamp Program (FSP) Participation Grant. Subject to the availability of Fiscal Year 2007 funds, a total of $5 million is available for FY 2007. Our intention is to award a Federal grant of up to $1 million to an otherwise acceptable proposal that involves a partnership between a State agency and one or more private non-profit organizations, including faith-based or community-based organizations. The purpose of the project is to improve the quality and efficiency of operations within the food stamp office. Please view the announcement for pertinent details about the program and how to apply.
