FY 2006 Infrastructure Protection Program: Trucking Security: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is launching its Fiscal Year (FY) 2006 Infrastructure Protection Program (IPP). The IPP is an important component of the Administrations larger, coordinated effort to strengthen the security of Americas critical infrastructure. This program implements the objectives addressed in a series of laws, strategy documents, plans and Homeland Security Presidential Directives (HSPDs). Of particular significance are the National Preparedness Goal (the Goal) and its associated work products, the Interim National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP) and the National Strategy for Transportation Security (NSTS). As a component of the DHS IPP, the FY 2006 Trucking Security Program (TSP) will provide financial assistance to the American Trucking Associations (ATA) to continue to facilitate training and reporting of suspicious activities on our Nations highways. The program is administered by the Preparedness Directorate, in consultation with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Note: Projects or initiatives that are eligible for funding under this announcement may or may not involve Geospatial (GIS) issues.
