- Grant Description
- The goal of the STOP (Services, Training, Officers, and Prosecutors) Violence Against Indian Women Discretionary Grants Program (STOP VAIW Program) is to encourage tribal governments to develop and strengthen the tribal justice system=s response to violence against Indian women, and to improve the services available to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in Indian country. The Office on Violence Against Women will award discretionary grants to support the efforts of tribal governments in achieving these goals. To be eligible for an award, applicants must: be a Federally-recognized tribal government or consortium of tribal governments; propose project activities that fall within the scope of one or more of the statutory program purpose areas; collaborate with a non-profit, non- governmental victim services provider; and certify that they meet the Violence Against Women Act certification requirements.
