County and local governments, as well as private marinas are eligible for this program, but must coordinate their proposal with the designated state agency. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will only accept proposals from the designated state agencies.
Grant Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is accepting proposals for the Fiscal Year 2006 Clean Vessel Act grant program. This grant program provides funding for the construction, renovation, and operation and maintenance of sewage pumpout and dump stations for recreational boaters. Educational programs designed to inform recreational boaters about the importance of proper disposal of their sewage are also eligible for funding. The Clean Vessel Act grant program requires a minimum 25% state cost share, which can include volunteer and in-kind services.
