- Youth Conservation Corps Act of 1970 but later changed to Public Lands Corps Act of 1993, 16 USC 1723, PL 91-378, as amended by 92-597, as amended by 93-408, and as amended by 103-82. (a) Establishment of Public Lands Corps. There is hereby established in the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture a Public Lands Corps(c) Qualified youth or conservation corps. The Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture are authorized to enter into contracts and cooperative agreements with any qualified youth or conservation corps to perform appropriate conservation projects referred to in subsection (d) of this section. (d) Projects to be carried out The Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture may each utilize the Corps or any qualified youth or conservation corps to carry out appropriate conservation projects which such Secretary is authorized to carry out under other authority of law on public lands.
- Grant Description
- This project is located in the Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve in South Central Idaho. The project area is within Blaine, Butte, Lincoln, Minidoka, and Power Counties. The Idaho BLM Shoshone Field Office is implementing a travel management plan for roads within the Monument that have been closed through the planning process. There are a total of 55 routes that require treatment totaling approximately 12.8 miles.
