Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH): This announcement solicits applications for the Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH) Training Program.  The purpose of this program is to prepare maternal and child health leaders in adolescent[1] and young adult[2] health within at least five (5) core health disciplines, including medicine, nursing, nutrition, psychology, and social work by providing interdisciplinary leadership training to health professionals at the graduate and postgraduate levels. [1] For the purposes of this FOA, adolescents refer to individuals aged 10 through 17 years. [2] For the purposes of this FOA, young adults refer to individuals aged 18 through 26 years.

Additional Information on Eligibility
As cited in 42 CFR § 51a.3(b), only public or non-profit private institutions of higher learning may apply for training grants.  An “institution of higher learning" is defined as any college or university accredited by a regionalized body or bodies approved for such purpose by the Secretary of Education, and any teaching hospital which has higher learning among its purposes and functions and which has a formal affiliation with an accredited school of medicine and a full-time academic medical staff holding faculty status in such school of medicine. Foreign entities are not eligible for HRSA awards, unless the authorizing legislation specifically authorizes awards to foreign entities or the award is for research.  This exception does not extend to research training awards or construction of research facilities.
