- This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the Bureau of Land Management?s intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition. The ARRA funds provided will assist Lander County and the BLM to jointly determine the feasibility of utilizing post mining infrastructure with renewable energy technology. The study would determine how much existing mine infrastructure would be sustainable for renewable resource uses/needs (e.g. buildings, water/sewer/power delivery systems, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements), if written into the original mine analysis. This project supports the purpose of the ARRA to spur technology advances in science, seeks to utilize existing infrastructure and invest wisely in new technology that will provide long-term economic benefit.
