Russian Technology Program: THE FOLLOWING IS A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL REQUIREMENT. APPLICANTS MUST READ THE COMPLETE FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT DE-PS26-05NT15540 FOR COMPLETE DETAILS AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION (See File Announcement DE-PS26-05NT15540.doc, at the bottom of the page below). FUNDING OPPORTUNITY OBJECTIVE The objective of this funding opportunity is to receive applications for cost-shared development and demonstration projects using promising Russian technologies in the United States of America. Applications will be accepted which meet the following criteria. The applicant must be a domestic (U.S.) company. The proposed technology must originate from Russia and must not have been commercialized in the United States. The proposal may be for final research and development or field demonstration in the United States of new or existing Russian technologies. Technology transfer of the new technology must occur within the United States. SCOPE This funding opportunity announcement has two subtopics that specifically address the following topics. Applications may address only one of these two topics. You may submit more than one application. Each application must have its own unique title on the subject line (i.e., project title and principal investigator/project director, if any). Subtopic 1: Russian Technologies for Oil Pipeline Spill Detection Projects in subtopic area 1 promote the Office of Petroleum objective of developing new technologies enhancing environmentally friendly oil production. Area 1 will accept applications for further development or field demonstration of Russian technologies for oil pipeline spill detection. Subtopic 2: Upstream Oil Production Technologies Projects in subtopic area 2 promote the Office of Petroleum objective of developing new technologies enhancing oil production. Area 2 will accept applications for further development or field demonstration of Russian upstream oil technologies that are more advanced than those commercially available in the United States. Example upstream technologies are, but not limited to: Seismic and other imaging technologies, geologic modeling tools, reservoir characterization, and reservoir modeling or other technologies that may be available. Drilling, completion and stimulation tools and techniques. Primary, secondary and tertiary oil production technologies. NOTE: Research and development projects require a 20% minimum cost share of the total allowable project costs. Applied studies, demonstration, and commercial application projects require a 50% minimum cost share of the total allowable project costs. TOTAL ALLOWABLE PROJECT COSTS INCLUDE BOTH THE DOE SHARE AND THE RECIPIENT SHARE.
