Grant Description: This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) solicits research grant applications from organizations that propose to conduct human tissue- and cell-based vascular research. The primary goal of this initiative is to promote research that will advance translational efforts in lung vascular disease. This program makes available human biospecimens collected by the Pulmonary Hypertension Breakthrough Initiative (PHBI). Biospecimens may be used to investigate mechanistic research questions in lung vascular biology, including validating hypotheses of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) pathogenesis. Innovative use of biospecimens for addressing general vascular biology research questions is encouraged.
