Wilderness Character Map for Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve Park Unit: Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve: Project Description: The purpose of the Wilderness Character Map is to show the current overall condition of wilderness character and how it varies across a landscape; allow analysis of the effects of different planning alternatives on wilderness character by varying different factors that combine to produce the map and examining the results; be used for project planning to analyze the effects of proposed actions on wilderness character; provide a baseline from which future monitoring could show the trend in wilderness character over time. As part of this process, Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve will gain better understanding of their current data and whether new or better data would be needed for future planning and analyses of effects on wilderness character.
