Youth Career Development Program: This announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service's intention to award a task agreement under a previously competed or single source justified master cooperative agreement. Specifically, SCA will: 1) Work with NPS staff to develop a summer youth career exploration program that engages diverse youth from both the local community and the broader region in learning about careers in the National Park Service and similar organizations. 2) Assist in the selection of six interns (1 resource management intern, 1 leader/mentor, 2 regional interns, 2 local interns). Applications will be forwarded to the NPS for consideration. 3) Place and maintain qualified individuals who are acceptable to the NPS for Leader/Mentor Internship PO-00723408 (11 weeks, 40 hours a week), Local Summer Internship PO-00723407 (8 weeks, 40 hours a week), Regional Summer Internship PO-00723406 (8 weeks, 40 hours per week), and Resource Management Intern PO-00724008 (36 weeks, 40 hours per week) 4) Continue long-standing efforts of the NPS to provide opportunities for public service, youth employment, minority youth development and training, and participation of young adults in accomplishing conservation related work. 5) Provide a stipend for subsistence; uniform and name badges during period of service; travel to and from the park for the six interns for the duration of their participation in this project; and a local community allowance for the resource management intern and commuting vehicle for the leader/mentor and summer regional and local interns. 6) Provide housing for the six interns. 7) Accept tools, equipment, and facilities furnished by Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller NHP on a loan basis only; all such items shall be returned in the same condition received except for normal wear and tear in project use, in accordance with the terms set forth in Article VII of the Master Cooperative Agreement # P15AC00031 and 43 CFR 12. 8) Manage and carry out all administrative functions associated with the provision of services under this agreement to include payroll processing and purchasing. 9) Provide an orientation prior to the start of each internship that introduces applicants to benefits/support provided by SCA, i.e. internship benefits including a living allowance, housing allowance, travel allowance, AmeriCorps Education awards, and worker's compensation insurance. 10) In addition, SCA provides Risk Management oversight including access for both members and supervisors to their 24-hour emergency response hotline. SCA staff will serve as a resource for interns throughout the internship, providing advice and guidance. 11) Provide for 25 % In Kind Match
