CDC-Mexico Cooperative Agreement for Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Capacity: CDC announces a new five-year cooperative agreement (CoAg) to strengthen public health systems in Mexico and enhance binational efforts to address infectious diseases of public health importance to Mexico, the US, and the border region. The program is intended to support the recipient with developing strategies to (1) strengthen and update binational protocols and collaboration, (2) enhance public health epidemiology and laboratory capacity, (3) expand the network partnerships of the Binational Technical Working Group, and (4) improve availability of and access to binational data, surveillance and analytics. The ultimate objective of this CoAg to improve health outcomes for evidence-based programs; and advance the capacity of public health systems in Mexico to identify, respond to, and mitigate public health threats.
