- This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service's intention to fund the project activities without full and open competition in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy, Departmental Manual 505DM. Notice of Intent to Award based on Unique Qualifications--The Washington Natural Heritage Program (WHNP) is responsible for developing systematic and objective classifications of native plant communities in the state. WHNP employs the same national system of classification used by NPS. WHNP staff has extensive experience in all phases of development of vegetation classification, and have also participated in developing vegetation maps using the national classification system.
