Entiat Intensively Monitored Watershed (IMW) Coordination and Monitoring: Reclamation relies on locally driven processes, namely the Watershed Planning Process, established by the WA Department of Ecology in 1999, and the Upper Columbia Spring Chinook Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Plan, signed in August 2007, to guide Reclamation¿s habitat improvement actions. The Entiat watershed has been designated an Intensively Monitored Watershed (IMW), and as such BPA has committed significant resources to implement an exhaustive monitoring program. Cascadia Conservation District (CCD) has been designated the Watershed Planning Lead and the leader of the Recovery Plan Watershed Action Team, the primary forums for identifying, prioritizing, and planning the type of habitat improvement projects that Reclamation is required to implement under the FCRPS BiOp. CCD is also the designated IMW Coordinator, a position that not only covers monitoring but also closely coordinates a very regimented schedule of project implementation.
