Grizzly Bear Management Assistance in Idaho: This synopsis is the full announcement. The tasks to be performed under this agreement are as follows: The recipient, Idaho Fish and Game, will complete bear management actions in Idaho on grizzly bears, involving outreach and education to the public and capture, relocation and monitoring of grizzly bears as necessary to minimize bear/human conflicts. This Single Source Award is being made in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy 505 DM 2.14 B Unique Qualifications - The applicant is uniquely qualified to perform the activity based upon a variety of demonstrable factors such as location, property ownership, voluntary support capacity, cost-sharing ability, if applicable, technical expertise, or other such unique qualifications which allows for award without competition to an applicant. Idaho Fish and Game is the only state agency that has the legal authority to manage grizzly bears in Idaho and to assist with implementation of the Grizzly Bear Recovery Plan. Idaho Fish and Game is the only entity with jurisdiction and authority to manage grizzly bears in Idaho and is responsible for responding and managing human/bear conflicts in Idaho. NO other agency or organization has the legal responsibility, legal authority, management experience, or organizational capacity to capture and handle nuisance grizzly bears. This funding is to assist the Idaho Fish and Game in their implementation of grizzly bear recovery efforts.
