- Eligible applicants that can apply for this funding opportunity are listed below: . Public, non-profit organizations; . Private, non-profit organizations; . For-profit organizations; . Small, minority, and women-owned businesses; . Universities; . Colleges; . Hospitals; . Community-based organizations; and . Faith-based organizations In addition, the awardee is required to meet the following requirements: . Applicants must have a history of providing HIV- related clinical care and treatment in Nigeria and not have been brought into existence solely in response to this announcement. . Applicants must have experience implementing HIV/AIDS clinical programs, including laboratory operations, prevention activities, and care and support, and with at least one year of experience in at least two of the Emergency Plan target states (Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, Edo, Anambra, Kano, Edo, or Cross River) in providing clinical care for HIV/AIDS patients. . The applicants must submit documentation with their application that they have been providing HIV services in Nigeria (e.g., progress reports) HHS/CDC is looking for applicants that will only have to spend a minimal amount of time on the project start-up activity phase without compromising project quality, and the applicants should already be familiar with the target populations and the factors and structures that could influence the progress and achievements of the project, and should be able to latch on its previous experience in working with such communities to ensure rapid engagement and progress. . Applicants should be organizations that can document they have a largely Nigerian clinical workforce and a good track record of working with Nigerian public and private health organizations. Preference will go to organizations that can demonstrate they will involve the Nigerian diaspora community in the United States in the provision of technical assistance.
