Initiative for Conservation of the Andean Amazon Phase II: This Annual Program Statement (APS) disseminates information about USAID/LAC Bureau's Phase II Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon (ICAA II) program and provides prospective grantees with an opportunity to develop and submit applications for funding to help meet the objectives of ICAA II Intermediate Result 1 -- Selected Landscapes Managed Sustainably. This APS requests applications for landscape-level program proposals that support the broader objectives of the ICAA II program, which are as follows: a. Reduced rates of deforestation and biodiversity loss b. Key aspects of Natural Resource Governance functioning effectivelyc. Increased Livelihood Quality and Sustainability.Pending the availability of funding, LAC anticipates awarding four to six grants or cooperative agreements to fund applications submitted in response to this APS. Each agreement will run for approximately four-five years. Applications are welcome from U.S. and non-U.S. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), education institutions, partnerships and consortia.Applicants for funding under this APS should indicate clearly and succinctly how their proposed activities will contribute to an improved condition of biologically significant areas, including mutually agreed performance indicators and benchmarks (both quantitative and qualitative) to measure these results.The final decision for funding will be based on both a technical review and the availability of USAID funding. USAID reserves the right to fund one or more or none of the applications which may be submitted.
