Eligibility for this award is limited to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They are the only institution who has the ability to continue to follow this 20-year cohort and to leverage other federal and private resources to create a rich data set and a variety of analyses to further public health.
Grant Description
This population-based, longitudinal study is designed to: - Determine the prevalence, incidence, and risk factors associated with the occurrence and progression of hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA). - Determine racial or ethnic differences in outcome and in the effect of risk factors upon OA outcomes.
