Grant Description
USAID/Haiti is requesting applications from qualified organizations or consortia of organizations in Haiti to implement a program for relief and reconstruction work in the Northwest and Artibonite departments that have recently suffered extensive damage from Tropical Storm Jeanne. This program would be funded at an approximate level of $21.8 million and be carried out over 24 months. Activities would address immediate needs to rehabilitate public use infrastructure, reinstitute services, support household recovery, mitigate future hazards and ensure sustainable reconstruction of the damage done by Tropical Storm Jeanne. The types of activities envisioned would include road repair, reconstruction of damaged schools, health facilities, and other public buildings, community activities in disaster preparedness and mitigation, and assistance to disaster-affected households, farms, and businesses.
