Sustainable WASH Support in South Sudan: This APS seeks to align with the first strategic objective of USAID’s Water and Development Strategy (2013-2018) to “Improve health outcomes through the provision of sustainable WASH.” The objectives of the programs to be funded under this APS are to:1. Reduce water-borne and diarrheal disease through comprehensive water, sanitation, and hygiene programming targeted to reduce fecal-oral disease transmission. 2. Improve sustainability of existing water supply infrastructure for communities, moving them away from fully subsidized approaches and laying the foundation for development donor and local government support through a few avenues outlined in the full announcement.
