2019 NPS Academy Youth, Interpretation and Education Internships: This task agreement covers the placement of three internships with a focus on supporting youth engagement, interpretation and education programs at park unit sites across Alaska through the NPS Academy program in partnership with SCA. These sites include Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve, Alaska Public Lands Information Center. These positions will provide parks and programs with young adults for 12 weeks during the peak field season of May ¿ August, who will assist Park Service staff in a variety of youth, interpretation and education tasks including delivering interpretation programs to enrich visitors¿ experiences, increase community connections to parks, provide educational opportunities for visitors and local residents including youth, and provide contacts with visitors to answer questions. Moreover, it is intended that these internships will afford participants the opportunity to gain valuable workforce development skills as well as exposure to various NPS career avenues.
