A MEchanically Based Antenna (AMEBA): DARPA seeks innovative proposals to develop mechanically-driven transmitters producing radio frequency (RF) signals at carrier frequencies below 30 kHz. The program will develop the basic technologies and demonstrate the feasibility of low-size, weight, and power (SWaP) transmitters satisfying the requirements of representative DoD missions. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.
