Abusive Head Trauma (AHT) Prevention: CDCs Procurement and Grants Office has published a program announcement entitled, "Abusive Head Trauma (AHT) Prevention." $1,200,000 [this amount is an estimate, and subject to the availability of funds] will be available in fiscal year 2007 to fund approximately three awards. The purpose of the announcement is to solicit U49 research applications to evaluate strategies for the prevention of abusive head trauma (AHT). Specifically, to assess effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of delivering AHT prevention information to parents and other caregivers in diverse settings (e.g., in hospitals, public health clinics, home-visitation), and to identify mediators of any changes that are detected. For complete program details, please see the full announcement on the CDC website at http://www.cdc.gov/od/pgo/funding/CE07-004.htm. The estimated funding date is August 31, 2007.
