Across State Lines: Interstate Compact: The documentary proposed as part of this two-year project will record the history of the interstate compact from past to present (historical reference with animation/narration to make it relevant to stakeholders), and it will inspire and engage the audience in the work and mission of the compact, showcasing the work of state compact offices and providing a look at the compact from the offender's perspective. Through a series of interviews with those involved with the compact, the film will document the challenges and triumphs that were involved in making the compact a success, from enlisting the cooperation of state decision-makers to communicating the compact on a national scale. Through interviews with adults on supervision, the film will show how the compact evolved from a simple idea to widespread implementation[. The result should be an informative, high-interest film that illustrates both the historical significance of the compact and its myriad contributions to public safety. The connection of interview of those on supervision - will that show the evolution of an idea to widespread implementation, it seems that the evolution would be part of the history.
