Acute Coronary Syndromes in Old Age: The goal of this program is to foster biomedical research that will lead to a better understanding of the biology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and medical management of the acute coronary syndromes (ACS) in old age. This PA is intended to foster clinical research, including integrative biomedical research, some of which will incorporate the tools of molecular and cellular biology in the study of function and clinical outcome. A long-term goal is to provide the necessary framework for the development of effective prevention and/or new treatment strategies for ACS in old age.
