Air Quality and Congestion Mitigation Measure Outcomes Assessment Study: The U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT) intends to conduct a research effort entitled “Air Quality and Congestion Mitigation Measure Outcomes Assessment Study.” The objective of this study is to better understand the outcomes of actions funded under the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ) since the enactment of Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU, Public Law 109-59). Outcomes of interest include the emissions reduction potential and air quality and human health impacts of such actions. Additionally, the study shall serve to increase the empirical evidence of the causal relationship between such transportation actions and these outcomes, both intended an unintentional. The validity of methods used to make these types of outcome assessments will also be explored and assessed.
