Alaska Game Management Unit 23 Working Group: This project will be to arrange for facilitated meetings between representatives from various state, federal and local agencies and other interested stakeholders in order to craft a resolution to reduce conflicts between non-local hunters and local subsistence hunters over access to wildlife resources in northwest Alaska, near Kotzebue, Alaska, Game Management Unit 23 (GMU 23). This is a multi-agency planning effort to minimize these conflicts. A coordinating agency is needed to schedule meetings and exchange ideas on how to resolve the issues contributing to user conflicts.
