Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health:Improving Maternal Health and Safety: This announcement solicits applications for the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health: Improving Maternal Health and Safety. The goal of this initiative is to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality and their associated adverse pregnancy outcomes (preterm birth, low birth weight and infant mortality) through efforts engaging provider organizations, state public health leaders, payers, hospital associations, regulatory bodies, consumer groups, and other key organizations. The outcome of this activity will be to improve maternal health on the national level through saving approximately 100,000 women from maternal mortality and/or preventable severe morbidities over the four-year project period.
