American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Health Information Strategic Health IT Advanced Research Projects: This Program will support competitively-awarded cooperative agreements to establish Strategic Health IT Advanced Research Projects (SHARP). Projects (or Awardees) under this program will conduct research focusing on where breakthrough advances are needed to address well-documented problems that have impeded adoption of health IT and to accelerate progress towards achieving nationwide meaningful use of health IT in support of a high-performing, learning health care system. The goal of these research efforts is to improve the process for adoption of HIT and providing a more efficient pathway towards meaningful use.
