Applications of Imaging and Sensor Technologies for Clinical Aging Research (SBIR [R43/R44]): This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) solicits Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant applications from small business concerns (SBCs) for the development and validation of new or improved imaging and sensor technologies that will enhance opportunities to address key research questions about human aging. Such imaging and sensor technologies could be crucial for studies to elucidate the processes and mechanisms of human aging, to characterize physiologic aging changes over the life span, and to characterize physiologic, pathologic, and functional abnormalities in old age. The development of non-invasive or minimally invasive techniques that would allow serial measurements within the same individual over an extended period of time is of particular interest.
