Artist Profiles: This Program Solicitation requests proposals to carry out a project to produce and distribute no fewer than ten two-to-three-minute television broadcast-ready profiles on American artists. Each profile will be two to three minutes long and will focus on a single masterpiece and the artist(s) who created it, providing historical and biographical context for the achievement. Featured works and artists will be chosen from a variety of disciplines and will represent the remarkable range of artistic activity that has flourished in America during the past three centuries. Stations will have the opportunity to air the profiles at times of their own choosing, and as often as they like. In addition, the profiles may be archived on a website and distributed, with supporting material that expands on the artists? lives and work, to schools, libraries, and community organizations throughout the nation.
