Assertive Adolescent and Family Treatment: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrations (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) announces the availability of FY 2006 funds for Family Centered Substance Abuse Treatment Grants for Adolescents and their Families (hereafter referred to as the Assertive Adolescent and Family Treatment program). Grants under this program are authorized under Section 509 of the Public Health Service Act, as amended. The program addresses the Healthy People 2010 focus area 26-Substance Abuse.SAMHSAs Services Grants are designed to address gaps in substance abuse services and/or to increase the ability of States, units of local government, federally recognized tribes, tribal organizations, and community- and faith-based organizations to help specific populations or geographic areas with serious, emerging substance abuse problems. SAMHSA intends that its Services Grants result in the delivery of services as soon as possible and no later than 4 months after award (for State applicants, the delivery of services must begin within 60 days of award).
