The Bridging Immigration-Related Deficits Experienced Nationwide (BIDEN) Reimbursement Fund, established by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Public Law 119-21, Title X, Subtitle A, Part II (codified at 34 U.S.C. § 61101), authorizes the Department of Justice to provide grants to eligible state and local governments for law enforcement activities related to aliens who have committed crime(s) under federal, state, or local law, in addition to being unlawfully present in the United States (hereafter referred to as “criminal illegal aliens”), as well as combating drug and human trafficking. This funding opportunity will support costs incurred by the Memphis Police Department (MPD) related to the purchase, maintenance, and related training of high-performance aircraft to support criminal apprehension and monitor high-risk operations.
