Blended English Teacher Certification Program with State Governments: Proposed Project This funding opportunity seeks to partner with American University or Teachers' Association in the U.S. to offer a blended teacher certification program focusing on foundation and methodology of teaching English as a Second Language for 50 secondary school educators who have mentoring or teacher training duties. Training program should be planned in mid-May to June end or mid-November-December 20th, when schools are closed for vacations and teacher trainers are available. This project seeks to work with State Government/s in India on upgrading English language skills of trainers and mentors to raise the standard of English instruction for middle and secondary school students. In India, school education falls directly under the purview of State Governments. This initiative will help strengthen leadership skills of English trainers working directly with State Governments and build ties with State Governments working on improving English language education. After building a partnership with Delhi Government through the successful implementation of TCCP, RELO would like to expand this initiative using the model for blended certification program. This model has proven to be sustainable and helped make a positive impact on 1,100 Delhi Government schools that cater to educational needs of over 900,000 students.
