Border Environmental Health Coordination: Through the interagency agreement between the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration, the agencies are charged to support strategies planning, programs and activities that address specific environmental public health concerns and needs at a community level. The purpose of this program would be to assess and expand the utility of community health workers, or promotoras, in the impact of successful environmental health interventions through federally-funded programs (specifically), EPA and HRSA funded and other health related programs at the community level.

Additional Information on Eligibility
The successful applicant must meet the following general requirements to apply: (1) must be a public or private entity with a service commitment to and experience with U.S. Mexico Border einvironmental health issues; (2) Must directly employ a project director with a professional record in U.S. Mexico border environmental health policy and programmatic issues; (3) must directly employ Staff for the implementation of the training assessment, with exceptions only through agreement with the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy; and (4) Must have prior experience working with a full range of key U.S. and Mexico health and environmental entities.
