Building and Supporting Core Public Health Capacities Related to Violence and Injury Prevention: The purpose of this FOA is to: 1) strengthen violence and injury prevention public health infrastructure through the enhancement of state/local health department and partner staff competencies in program planning, policy, evaluation and developing and sustaining collaborative partnerships and 2) increase the adoption and implementation of public health violence and injury prevention policy and program strategies based on the best available evidence. This cooperative agreement will support the activities of all state and territorial health department violence and injury prevention programs and the broader violence and injury prevention program at CDC.
