Chesapeake Bay Program -- Fiscal Year 2004 Request for Initial Proposals (RFIP): The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) requests initial proposals to implement specific outcomes that will further the goals of the Chesapeake 2000: A Watershed Partnership. The agreement consolidated prior commitments and established new goals and deadlines for protecting and restoring the Bay's living resources, water quality, and vital habitats, promoting sound land use, and engaging communities beyond 2000. In April 2003, the Program partners agreed on specific amounts of nutrients and sediment to be eliminated in each state and watershed. The outcomes were designed to help the Chesapeake Bay Program meet the Chesapeake 2000 goals. We are seeking innovative, cost-effective proposals to accomplish them. If your organization has an interest in these topics, have the skills to accomplish one or more of these outcomes, and if you are qualified to receive a federal grant, we encourage you to make a proposal. You may make proposals for as many of the outcomes as you choose.
