Child and Adolescent Policy Support Center: The Center will support the Alliance for Information on MCH (AIM) Program, a collaborative of 16 national membership organizations whose members include decision makers within state and local government, MCH professions, foundations, the health insurance industry, and business, as well as advocates for families. The purpose of the AIM Program is to help individual organization members to make well informed decisions affecting public health policies and programs for women, children and families. The Center will assist AIM grantee organizations to understand the factors which impact the health and development of children, the factors which influence the delivery system of physical, mental and oral health and developmental services for children, the various approaches to deliver good preventive and restorative health care, and the impact of good child physical, mental and oral health and health care systems on the economic and social well-being of communities, states and the nation. The specific areas for investigation, such as use of health information technology, and education will be determined in collaboration with the AIM organizations, primarily collectively and but also according to individual organization needs. The Center also will help AIM members to better understand issues involved in and to assist in improving MCH program quality and accountability on a community, state and national level.
