Combating Wildlife Trafficking: This project will provide funding for the purpose of supporting key Ugandan government agencies (e.g., Uganda Wildlife Authority, Uganda Revenue Authority, Directorate of Public Prosecution and Uganda Police Force) to address the threat of wildlife trafficking through improved prosecution and sentencing of wildlife crime through the implementation of wildlife laws. Authorizing statutes include National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking; Executive Order 13648; July 5, 2013; Implementation Plan of the National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking; February 11, 2014; Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (16 U.S.C. 1531-43).
