Countering Violent Extremism Bangladesh Program: The Department of State?s Bureau for Counterterrorism Countering Violent Extremism Unit, is pleased to announce an open competition under its Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Program for awards for activities in Bangladesh. The CVE program seeks to provide positive alternatives to those most at-risk of radicalization and recruitment into violent extremism; counter violent extremist narratives; and increase partner-nation (civil society and government) capacities to stem radicalization and recruitment. CT will award one cooperative agreement of approximately $1.2 million for these activities in Bangladesh, contingent upon the availability of funds. Programming will target university students to counter the appeal of violent extremist ideologies among that demographic. Specifically, CT seeks to develop local activities focusing on the use of visual media for CVE. Applications should describe the development and production of a visual media progra m focused on countering radicalization on university campuses. A dissemination strategy should also be described. Filmmaking is a particular medium of interest.
