Curbing Anti-Women Propaganda: The Public Affairs Sections of the U.S. Consulate General Karachi (PAS Karachi) is pleased to announce an open competition for an assistance award through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). This project aims to empower male journalists and social media content creators to combat anti-women misinformation and online harassment campaigns by promoting pro-woman narratives. This two-year cooperative agreement will shape public opinion by increasing public awareness of the security challenges facing women and girls in Pakistan and encouraging action to counter gender-based violence and support survivors. The program will: 1) Train 100 male print and radio journalists and 50 male social media influencers/content creators to identify and counter anti-women misinformation and disinformation campaigns; 2) Create news content and short digital films to create a pro-woman narrative and counter victim blaming; and 3) Challenge underlying sociocultural barriers and norms by designing and disseminating social media content aimed at men and boys. This award is contingent on funding availability.
