Development of a Regional System and Strategy for the Management and Public Access of Environmental Information in Participating Central American Free Trade Agreement-Dominican Republic countries: The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 2 is soliciting proposals for federal financial assistance to develop a regional system and strategy for the management of environmental information and access to this environmental information by the public in the Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) countries (Dominican Republic Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica). The general objectives are the following: Develop a regional strategy for providing access to environmental information by civil society; Develop a process for seeking public input to environmental information management and access that will support environmental legislation in each country for both rural and urban areas; and, Provide easy access to environmental information for the public in the region through demonstration of a pilot project.
