Economic Studies of Health Insurance Coverage on Drug Abuse Treatment Availability, Access, Costs, and Quality (R01): Purpose. This FOA issued by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institutes of Health, solicits research project grant (R01) applications from institutions/organizations that propose to conduct rigorous, theory-driven research on the effects of recent legislative and regulatory changes affecting insurance coverage for drug abuse treatment services. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the R01 grant mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. NIDA intends to commit approximately $2,000,000 in total costs [Direct plus Facilities and Administrative (F&A) costs) in FY2010 and fund 4 to 5 new grants in response to this FOA.
