EducationUSA Professional College Counselor Network Program: U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE Venezuela Affairs Unit (VAU) Public Diplomacy Section Notice of Funding Opportunity Funding Opportunity Title: EducationUSA Professional College Counselor Network Program Funding Opportunity Number: FY2024VE004 Deadline for Applications: March 1, 2024 Assistance Listing Number: 19.040 Total Amount Available: up to $50,000 USD A. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Public Diplomacy Section in the Venezuela Affairs Unit (VAU) is seeking proposals to develop an EducationUSA Professional College Counselor Network. To apply for consideration for these funds, please submit a proposal, using the format and application materials described below, outlining the activities that your organization would conduct in order to meet the program objectives below. The due date for receipt of this proposal is March 1, 2024. Before submitting the proposal, your organization should review all the terms and conditions and required certifications and assurances to ensure that your organization will be able to comply. Program Objectives: Form a professional network of up to 50 trained secondary school college and career counselors. Specifically, the project will; Recruit up to 50 school counselors, in partnership with the VAU EducationUSA office, who will go through a 6-month training program; Launch program via in-person/virtual meetings; Coordinate trainings; Produce training materials (EducationUSA office will provide reference publications); Coordinate monthly in-person and virtual professional development meetings; Develop a sustainability model for the counselor network; Create and disseminate an EducationUSA branded monthly electronic newsletter; and Organize and implement a U.S. study tour for up to 12 secondary school college and career counselors from the initial group of up to 50. FEDERAL AWARD INFORMATION Length of performance period: up to 18 months Number of awards anticipated: one award Total available funding: up to a maximum of $50,000 USD Type of Funding: FY-2024 Smith Mundt Public Diplomacy Funds Anticipated program start date: May 1, 2024 This notice is subject to availability of funding. Funding Instrument Type: Cooperative agreement. The VAU anticipates substantial involvement in the final selection of program participants and review approval of all promotion and training materials developed prior to public presentation. Program Performance Period: Proposed programs should be completed in 18 months or less. The VAU Public Diplomacy section will entertain applications for continuation grants funded under these awards beyond the initial budget period on a non-competitive basis subject to availability of funds, satisfactory progress of the program, and a determination that continued funding would be in the best interest of the U.S. Department of State.
