Environmental Health Specialists Network (EHS-Net) - Practice based research to improve food safety: This Environmental Health Specialists Network (EHS-Net) research opportunity seeks to develop and sustain a network of environmental health program staff, in collaboration with epidemiologists and other public health professionals, to identify retail food safety research practice-based priorities focused on identifying and preventing foodborne illness risk factors, and to conduct the research. This announcement will fund EHS-Net research projects related to food safety activities under the jurisdiction of departments of health or other health agencies responsible for regulatory oversight of retail food service including restaurants, delis, cafeterias, schools, etc. For more information on EHS-Net, please visit our web page at: https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/ehs/ehsnet/ The purpose of Amendment 1 to this NOFO is to update the application submission deadline to no later than 5:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time on March 6, 2020, to update the expected project start date to September 30, 2020, and to provide additional clarifying information based on questions received from potential applicants during the Pre- Application Conference Call held on January 7, 2020. Applicants are strongly encouraged to pay close attention to the Responsiveness Criteria and the Application Review Criterial listed in the NOFO and to keep these in mind while preparing their proposals.
