Establish SEEDS YCC Crew to Assist Keweenaw National Historical Park Heritage Sites and Partners: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS) intention to fund a Task Agreement against an existing Master Agreement. The Recipient is a member of the 21st Century Conservation Service Corps Program who was awarded a Master Cooperative Agreement P15AC00027 allowing SEEDS to participate in specific tasks, and can provide the necessary activities involved in this particular task while providing an effective outcome for NPS and the objectives of this stewardship/youth development project. Task Agreement P17AC00154 original agreement was for $40,000.00 and a modification to add additional funding in the amount of $10,001.00 is required to fund an additional crew member. STATEMENT OF WORK: This project will assist Keweenaw National Historical Park Heritage Sites and other park partners with preservation and maintenance activities involving cultural landscapes, historic structures, and museum collections. The work crew will consist of six youth crew members who will work a total of eight weeks during the 2017 summer season. The crew will be supervised by a crew leader who will work a total of ten weeks providing a week of preparation and a week of close-out activities. Projects will expose crew members to various aspects of heritage preservation and include: vegetation removal, minor repairs and maintenance, interior and exterior painting, interior cleaning tasks, and care of museum collections. The work crew will be advised by the park's historical landscape architect, historical architect, museum archivist, and museum curator. RECIPIENT AGREES TO: Provide one (1) youth crew consisting of one (1) leader and seven (7) youth crew members for a period of no less than eight (8) weeks to work with KEWE Heritage Sites and park partners on projects involving preservation of historic structures, landscapes, and museum collections. NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AGREES TO: Participate and collaborate jointly with the Recipient in carrying out the scope of work; provide a NPS technical representative to be to assist with project specifics as needed; review and approve one stage of work before the next stage can begin; direct or redirect the work as a result of interrelationships with other projects; halt an activity immediately if performance specifications are not met; provide all construction supplies, materials, specialized tools and equipment when needed.
