Establishment of Rio Grande Canalization Water Project: The purpose of this Grant Agreement-Continuation- is to futher the establishment of the Rio Grande Water Transaction Program with the focus on the Canalization Reach of the Rio Grande from Caballo Dam south to the New Mexico state line. This continued agreement will establish a cooperative environmental water transaction program. The objective is to pr=urchase water rights to use for wildlife and habitat restorationon the Rio Grande in southern New Mexico. This project will benefit by making available for native habitat restoration to benefit endangered species, improve management of wetland and riparian habitats and promote healthy ecosystems.
