FY 2016 Critical Language Scholarship Program: The Office of Global Educational Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for the 2016 Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program, which provides foreign language instruction overseas for mixed cohorts of U.S. undergraduate and graduate students. The CLS Program is a component of the Department of State's engagement on expanding and diversifying U.S. study abroad through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs' new U.S. Study Abroad Branch. Public and private non-profit organizations, or consortia of such organizations, meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3), may submit proposals to cooperate with the Bureau in the administration and implementation of one or both of the two components (Component A: Pre- and Post-Program Administration and Component B: Implementation of Institutes and Alumni Activities) available under this competition.
