FY 2027 Crash Causal Factors Program: The CCFP Cooperative Agreement Program will provide supplemental funding to eligible State and local law enforcement agencies to support the collection of advanced crash data to inform the Heavy-Duty Truck Study. FMCSA anticipates Congress, State and local law enforcement, industry stakeholders, and advocacy groups to support this action, as the results of the Heavy-Duty Truck Study will provide an unprecedented amount of detailed crash data to inform safety management decisions and drive the development of crash countermeasures. The CCFP will carry out a series of peer-reviewed studies that focus on specific vehicle types and crash severities, starting with the Heavy-Duty Truck Study, which is focusing on fatal crashes involving Class 7/8 trucks.
