FY10 Promote, Support and Build Capacity in the Medical Reserve Corps: This announcement seeks proposals from public and nonprofit private entities to promote, support and build capacity in the Medical Reserve Corps network. Additional Information on Eligibility
Eligible applicants for this funding opportunity are national-level nonprofit organizations with significant local, state and national networking connections. The applicant organization must demonstrate: a thorough understanding of the MRC, including the background, history and current status of the MRC, as well as the activities conducted and sponsored by the OCVMRC an ability to connect and work with organizations at the local level, especially local health departments, particularly in the areas of capacity-building, strengthening public health infrastructure and improving public health preparedness significant experience in the design, development, implementation, successful completion and evaluation of activities focused on building and sustaining capacity of a local, community-based organizations skill and experience in raising the visibility of a national network/program For all non-governmental applicants, documentation of non-profit status must be submitted as part of the application. Any of the following constitutes acceptable proof of such status: a. A reference to the applicant organization's listing in the Internal Revenue Service's (IRS) most recent list of tax-exempt organizations described in the IRS tax code; b. A copy of a currently valid IRS tax exemption certificate; c. A statement from a State taxing body, State Attorney General, or other appropriate State official certifying that the applicant organization has a nonprofit status and that none of the net earnings accrue to any private shareholders or individuals; and d. A certified copy of the organization's certificate of incorporation or similar document that clearly establishes nonprofit status.
